I respect birth as a sacred rite of passage. My goal is to empower each family to find their own unique path through the challenges of pregnancy, birth, and newborn care. I facilitate this with careful, loving support and guidance for mother and baby. At the center of my work is a strong faith in the beauty, dignity, and sanctity of natural birth.

I have been a childbirth educator and midwife since 1985. I recently went back to school and in 2001 I became a Certified Nurse-Midwife with a Master's degree in Midwifery. My education allows me to offer comprehensive health care for women of all ages, to prescribe medicine if needed, and to accept Medicaid and other medical insurance programs. The best education I have received however, and continue to benefit from, comes from each woman I care for, and each baby I am blessed with helping be born. I attend home births and water births in Southwestern Wisconsin, and Southeastern Minnesota, within a 2 hour radius of my home in Viroqua, Wisconsin. I have two office location, one in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and one in Viroqua, Wisconsin. Visit my website at www.opendoormidwifery.com for more information.
